Eagles Exit in Durban. The memories of our lost to Argentina and Greece still linger in the
hearts of many football loving Nigerians in Johannesburg and across the
world and for their recent disappointments; many fans did not travel the
road to Durban.
As a patriotic supporter, I'm
on the bus again to watch my Eagles play South Korea in Durban. The
weather is warm in here and the beach is another attractive site to view
and the beautiful lights from casinos, shopping malls, bars and
restaurants; is a chip of what Durban has to offer.
Many side attractions from residents of Durban city, the tempo is high
and there's love everywhere and everyone you see will always smile back
at you.The tempo is escalating and is a win or go back home for the
Eagles and as for me; is the begining of my journey through out the
provinces of South Africa.
Our
contigent from Nigeria High Commission, Johannesburg, got their on time
and we had time to have dinner again after our breakfast at MacDonald.
We did some game plays at the Casinos and won some cash to buy more
Heinekens and Coke in the stadium.
The
game started on a good note for Eagles and we dominated until the game
took a sway and we could not hold the centre until the games fell
equally apart. 2-2, the final scores read and I was devasted and tired
as Eagles needed a win to move to the next stage of their worldcup
campaigne.
My trip was ruined and I had to sleep
through out the night as we travel through the cold night down to
Johannesburg. Is still winter and I had to hide my shame under my cold pillows in my flat in Berea.
